DESCRIPTION:Adventure Weekend is a unique and challenging adventure for boys in 1st-6th grade to experience “living on mission” through worship\, obstacle course and games. Our boys will be challenged to develop a missional mindset\, to prepare them for joining God’s work in our state\, country and world. Our camp pastor is Hunter Smith who is currently the youth pastor at Mt. Zion in Madison\, AL and our worship leader is Chris Lombardo out of Birmingham. \nRegistration deadline to guarantee t-shirts for your group is March 10th. \n  \nAdventure Weekend Tentative Schedule\nFriday:\n5-6:45pm     Check-in (Ricker Center)\n7:15pm         Worship (Ricker Center)\n8:30pm         Adventure Activities (Ropes Course\, Bazooka Ball\, Pavilion Climb\, Bonfire\, Putt Putt\,                         GAGA ball\, 9 Square\, Global Challenge)\n10:30pm       Church Group Time\n11:30pm        Lights out \nSaturday:\n7:30am         Breakfast (Gilbert Dining Hall)\n8:45am         Worship (Ricker Center)\n10:00am       Adventure Activities\n11:30am       Lunch (Gilbert Dining Hall)\n1:15pm         Final Session (Ricker Center)\n2:30pm         Dismiss\n \n  \nPacking List\n• If you are staying in a dorm\, you will need to bring sheets (twin) or sleeping bags\, towels\, etc.  The beds are bunk style.\n• Tent and RV campers provide all their supplies. DESCRIPTION:This conference is for pastors\, discipleship pastors\, student pastors\, children’s ministers and preschool ministers who are looking for methods to aid in the ministering to the Gen Z and Gen Alpha population groups. Dr. Shelly Melia\, Associate Dean and Program Director for the Master of Arts in Children’s Ministry and the Master of Arts in Family Ministry at Dallas Baptist University will lead the conference. \nDr. Melia has spoken at national conferences such as ETCH Family Ministry Conferences\, D6 Family Ministry Conference and the Children’s Pastor’s Conference. In addition\, she is a frequent speaker for local churches and state conventions in Oklahoma\, Texas\, Georgia\, Louisiana and Missouri. Most recently\, she contributed a chapter titled “The Role of Faith or Spirituality in a Child’s Response to Grief and Loss” to the new book Bridging Theory and Practice in Children’s Spirituality.
